The Team name Logo
Chennai Super King’s name is based on the Tamil Empire Ruler. The word super is mostly used in Tamil Nadu. CSK’s name derive from the brand of India Cement, Coromandel King.
The team logo represents the head of the loin in orange color and the team name in blue color. The use of a crown at the top of the team name is similar to the Coromandel King brand. The main icon is roaring the lion representing he is the king of the jungle.

Home Ground of Chennai Super Kings
The home ground of Chennai Super Kings is M. A. Chidambaram Stadium located in Chennai. The stadium is named after BCCI President M. A. Chidambaram. It is the old stadium in India which use regularly. 50,000 people can sit in this stadium and the owner of this stadium is Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.
In 2010, the stadium go through a major renovation for hosting some matches of the ICC World Cup 2011. In 2011, Chennai Super Kings won all their home matches including the final against RCB. CSK is the only team that won their all-home matches.

2013 Spot Fixing Scandal
In 2013, the Son-in-law of Srinivasan was arrested by Mumbai police on charges of spot-fixing on the Indian Premier League. Meiyappan was provided a warrant by the Mumbai police. On the investigation, it was found that Meiyappan was in contact with dicer through actor Vindu Dara Singh. Police arrested Meiyappan for the spot-fixing crime. On 2 June 2013 Srinivasan decided to surrender as BCCI president for some time until the inquiry of the spot-fixing case is completed.
CSK Ban for 2 Years
On 14 July 2015, the RM Lodha committee dismissed the owner of RR and Chennai Super Kings from the IPL for two years. On 24 February 2016, the Supreme Court of India accepted to hear a ring for taking up the ban on the CSK.
Team Performance 2008 – 2009
In the first season of IPL Chennai Super Kings bought star players for their team M.S. Dhoni, Mathew Hyden, Stephen Flaming, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Micheal Hussey. M.S. Dhoni was the coach of the team and Kepler Wessels was the head coach. They played their 1st match on 19 April 2008 against Kings 11 Punjab. CSK won by 33 runs. They beat Kings 11 Punjab by 9 wickets in the semi-final. They also able to gat a spot in Champion league T20 along with Rajasthan but due to the 2008 Mumbai Attack BCCI cancel the tournament.
In 2009, CSK bought Andrew Flintoff for $ 1.55 and make him the highest-paid IPL cricketer. The Chennai Super Kings finished with 17 points in 14 matches. In the semi-final, they lose the hope for the final when RCB defeated them by 6 wickets. The super opener Mathew scored 572 runs and won the orange cap.
Team Performance 2010 – 2015
In 2010 they won only 2 matches out of 7 in the first half of the season. They won more than 4 matches out of 5. Chennai won the match by 6 wickets. In the semi-final, CSK scored 142/7 in 20 overs against defending Champions Deccan chargers. The Chennai Super Kings faced Mumbai Indians in the final at their home ground. They defeated the MI by 22 runs and won the IPL Trophy.

In the 2014 auction, Chennai Super Kings retained Dhoni, Raina, Jadeja, Ashwin, and Bravo. They defeated Kings 11 Punjab in the semifinal by 34 runs. In the final at Bangalore, they faced KKR who set them a target of 181 in 20 overs. CSK lost the final to KKR. Chennai spinner Pawan Negi who took 5/22 during the KKR innings won the Man of the match and Raina Man of the tournament.
On auction, they bought back Michael for a price of Rs.1.5 crore. They also bought Irfan Pathan, Andrew Tye, Rahul Sharma, Ankush Bains, and Kyle Abbot. In the final, they lost against MI. In 2018 Chennai Super Kings won the final third time in IPL against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Star all-rounder Shane Watson won the title of Man of the Match for his 117 on 57 balls. In 2020 IPL postpone due to Covid-19 in India and shift to Dubai for play IPL.CSK ended their tournament with high winning in their last three games against King 11 Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, and RCB. Chennai finished the season with 7th overall in the points table and failed to take a position in the play-off the first time.
In the first led of the 2021 IPL season, they carried 5 consecutive matches winning streak against MI. In the 2nd leg of the season IPL resumed in Dubai, Chennai Super Kings carried 4 consecutive matches winning streak, to ensure its berth in ply-offs. CSK was the first team to qualify for a play-off in the 2021 season. In the qualifier, Chennai Super Kings beat Delhi Capital for the final. Chennai Super Kings won their 4th IPL winning title by defeating KKR.
