The Delhi Capitals was known as Delhi Daredevils until the 2018 season and thereafter came to be known as its current name. According to Economic Times, the franchise was bought for an amount of 630 crores by infrastructure giant, GMR Group.

Punjab Kings formerly known as Kings XI Punjab was bought at a price of 576 crores, according to Republic World. Bollywood actress, Preity Zinta, and a group of businessmen Ness Wadia, Karan Paul, and Mohit Burman took a stake in the team.
Punjab Kings shelled out a huge amount of INR 627.56 crore in the auction to sign great players for the squad. During the past years, they have picked some outstanding players in their team but they don’t get success to get fruitful results of winning. Punjab Kings spent an amount of 11 crores to retain the player KL Rahul in the team. On the other hand, they also spent 10.75 crores to add all-rounder Glenn Maxwell to their team and INR 8.50 crore on pacer Sheldon Cottrel to add to the team.
Chennai Super Kings
CSK is the second most successful team in the Indian Premier League history that was bought by the renowned cement manufacturers and suppliers, India Cements. As per reports, the company shelled out 689 crores in order to win the bid.
Chennai Super Kings win the title of IPL Championship 4 times and the team is led by the Indian former captain MS Dhoni. To earn the title the management of the team spent 600 crores on their players during the auction. This team was out of the league for 2 years from 2016 to 2017. MS Dhoni is the most expensive player on the team and he takes a salary of INR 15 crore every season. He served the team as a batsman and captain in IPL.
It is a record of the Chennai Super Kings team in their 11-year league history they failed to qualify for the second stage of the league. The 12 seasons of IPL were disappointing for them because they failed to get a position in the playoffs. They finished the season in the seventh position in the points table by winning 12 points.
Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL Expensive Team
Sunrisers team came in the 7th position with the point of view of an expensive team of the IPL. After Deccan Chargers was out of the league, the Hyderabad-based franchise was bought by SUN Group in 2012. As per reports by Times of India, the group spent a total of 425 crores and named the franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Despite joining IPL in the 2013 season SRH manage the amount the money in the auction to build a strong side over the years. The orange army spent INR 477.87 crore on its team during the auction. Sunrisers Hyderabad team pay a huge amount to David Warner the Australian Player who is responsible for taking the team to their maiden title in 2016. The Indian batsman Manish Pandey takes a salary of INR 11 crore.

As per reports, the Rajasthan Royals franchise was bought for an amount of 508 crores in a joint partnership between Tresco International Ltd, Emerging Media Pvt. Ltd, and Blue Water Estate Ltd. RR the last team is the most expensive team that spent INR 452.94 crore in the auction. They sign great players Ben stock, Steve Smith, and Jos Buttler.
At present, they bought all-rounder Ben Stokes and Steve Smith as captains for the amount of INR 12.5 crore. The team makes a torrid run the first time and finishes 8th position in the points table.
