Karachi Kings is the first and most expensive team in the Pakistan Super League. The ARY media network bought the Karachi team for US$26 million. Karachi is the provincial capital of Sindh. They win their first PSL title against the Lahore Qalandar team. Later Multan Sultan team broke the record of the Karachi Kings team as the most expensive team in PSL history.

Karachi Kings Team Performance History
2016 Year
The Kings play first match of tournament against Lahore Qalandar & wins the match very easily. They won only 2 matches in the group stage with 4th position in the points table. Karachi team success to qualify for the play-offs. They play against Islamabad United for the final match but could not chase the target. Kings team make only 111 lowest score of the tournament and out by losing 9 wickets. They can’t qualify for the final match of PSL & terminated from the tournament.
2017 year
In the season of 2017 Babar Azam led the team as captain & Kumar Sangakkara also joined the team. They play their first match against Peshawar Zalmi where they lost the match by 7 wickets. In the next game they also lost the match against Quetta Gladiators. Kings failed to chase the target of 160 against Quetta team. After tournament shift to Sharjah the team of Karachi continue lost their matches. Against the Islamabad United team they success to win the match & make position in points table.
When tournament move to Dubai from Sharjah the Kings team could not continue the winning strike. They lost match after one by one and again goes down to the bottom of the points table. The Karachi team again faced the Islamabad team to qualify the eliminator & defeat the Islamabad team by 44 runs. Karachi team success to qualify the 2nd round of play-offs. But they could not get the chance to play in the final match.
2018 Year
In the season Shahid Afridi joined the Karachi Kings team. In the previous season the Karachi can not qualify for the final in the two pervious season. They lost the first match of 2018 season against Quetta team but in the next matches they continue get the win against the defending Champions Peshawar Zalmi. They play next game against Lahore Qalandar where Qalandar lost the match by 27 runs, Shahid Afridi get the award of ” Man of the Match”.
Karachi Kings team eliminated in the 2nd match of eliminator. After league shifted to Sharjah the the match of Kings against Multan Sultan team washed out due to rain. Batting first in the Sharjah against Islamabad United they make a big target of 154 runs but could not success to win the match & lost it by 8 wickets.
2019 Year
They start well in 2019 season but after two games lost the games continusoly. Karachi team win just 3 matches at group stage. They could not qualify for the play-off & got the bottom position in the points table. In this tournament Wasim Akram joined the Kings franchise as a president.
2020 Year
This is very lucky year for the Kings team because they got their first win in this year. All the players tries their best to win the title of Champions. In the 5th season of Pakistan Super League history Karachi kings succeed to get win. They defeat the team Multan in the qualifier match. In this season Imad Wasim lead the team. They play the final match against Lahore & defeat them by 5 wickets.
2022 Year
Karachi Kings play well in the start of tournament. The most rivalry match of the tournament was Lahore Qalandar vs Karachi Kings. Both of two cities are the famous for the economic & culture rivalry. All the fans of PSL and both cities enjoy this match. Both team play against each other 14 times where Karachi Kings win 8 matches .Kings could not qualify for the play-off. They make their place in the center of points table.
