Lahore Qalandars take an unstable start to chase the target of 171 scored by Peshawar Zalmi. LQ has qualified for final of PSL 8 by defeating PZ. Qalandars wins the match against Peshawar Zalmi by four wickets in the second Eliminator match at Lahore Gaddafi Stadium. Lahore lost the match against Multan Sultans in the qualifier match by 84 runs on 15 March 2023. But Qalandars has a chance to play the final match and they win this chance today in their home Ground.
After winning the toss Peshawar Zalmi make scored 171 runs for Lahore Qalandars in the 2nd Eliminator match of PSL 8 season 2023. Babar Azam and Saim Ayub come into the ground to bat first but unfortunately on just 9 runs on 5 balls. After sain Haris came and take a stable start. Babar Azam and Haris formed a wonderful partnership of 104 runs. But Babar Azam was LBW out by Rashid Khan on 42 runs. Babar Azam made one more record in PSL 8 of 500 runs.
Fakhar Zaman and Mirza Baig take a slow start at the beginning of the match but Fakhar was out on just 6 balls. Mirza Baig plays an amazing role for Lahore Qalandars, he scored the highest runs of 54 on 42 balls. Mirza helps the team to chase the target of 172 set by Peshawar Zalmi.
Billings and Sikandar Raza made crucial cameos to keep Qalandars on their way to victory. David Wiese (9*) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (12*) led their team to victory. With his 21-ball 28 and three boundaries, wicketkeeper batter Billings remained the Qalandars’ primary run-getter. Sikandar followed with 23 off 14 and two boundaries.
Azmatullah Omarzai led Zalmi’s bowling attack on 2/31, with Salman Irshad, Aamer, and Wahab Riaz each striking out one batter. The hope of Zlmi is broken to play the final after facing defeat by Qalandars. Zalmi is out from the PSL 8 and Lahore Qalandars are eagerly waiting to play the final against Multan Sultan on 18th March. Zalmi and Qalandars’s barred record stands tied at 10-10. The two teams have met in 20 matches such a long way in the PSL and have beaten each other multiple times. Mirza Tahir Baig Become the man of the Match for the winning side’s highest score.
PSL 8 Final date has been shifted from 19 March 2023 to 18 March 2023. According to the Chairman PCB Najam Sethi who tweeted that the rain can affect the match on Sunday so Sunday is a reserved day. Now the Final will take place on Saturday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
