In the 5th season, they won 5 matches out of 8 with a 0.366 net run rate. Melbourne Stars finish the season in 2nd place and become the runner-up of the tournament. The 6th season played on just semi-final stage by winning 4 matches out of 8. Stars team finish 8th or 9th season once again as runner-up team.
The 7th, 10th, and 11th tournaments of Big Bash League ended on just league stage with last and 2nd last positions. They are the only team who finish most of their season on the semi-final stage and runner-up team.
