The Peshawar Zalmi franchise is the cricket team in PSL. In 2015 on 3 December PCB announced the PSL tournament and select 6 different teams from 6 different cities. Javed Afridi is the owner of the Peshawar Zalmi Team. Javed Afridi buys the Peshawar team for US$16.It is one of the best teams in the Pakistan Super League. 2016 Year
Peshawar team plays well in the opening tournament and wins the first two matches. In the group stage, Peshawar Zalmi wins six matches out of eight. Zalmi gets 1st position in the points table and qualifies for the play-off stage. They play 1st match of the play-off against Quetta. They lost the match against Quetta by 1 run. The next match in the play-offs play against Islamabad United but they also lost the match & terminate the tournament.
2017 Year
In the year 2017, the team Peshawar Zalmi retained 10 players & add eight new players to their team. In the first match of this season, they lost the match against the Islamabad United team by 7 wickets. They play the next match against Quetta, they won the match by 7 wickets. But against Lahore Qalandar they can make only 60 runs. When the tournament moved to Sharjah, Zalmi’s first match was tied due to rain & points were shared by both teams.
Next match against Islamabad United they face a tough time in the match. In the last match in Sharjah Peshawar Zalmi face a losing streak after being beaten by the Karachi Kings team. But after shifting the tournament to Dubai, Peshawar Zalmi made a record by winning two consecutive matches against Quetta & Lahore. In the final match, Peshawar defeats Quetta and wins the final match. Muhammad Asghar took 3 wickets for 16 runs.
2018 Year
Zalmi faces defeat against Quetta in the first match of the tournament by 7 wickets. In the next game, Zalmi secured its position by 34 runs against Islamabad United. In this match, Umaid Asif wins the title of a star performer. They play the next match against Karachi Kings & Kings take the win by 5 wickets. After shifting the match to Sharjah the Zalmi team won thrills match against Quetta. Quetta gave the target of 143 runs to Peshawar & in reply Peshawar makes the 107 runs and lost the match by 22 runs. Peshawar beat the Lahore in next match comfortably by the margin of 10 wickets. In the final match Zalmi lost the match against Islamabad United by three wickets.
2019 Year
In this year Peshawar Zalmi finishes the group stage by taking the 1st position. Zalmi wins 7 matches out of 10 and become no 1 on point stage. But in qualifier round the Quetta Gladiators give the target to Peshawar and Peshawar lost the match by 10 runs. In the final once again Quetta & Zalmi face each other & Quetta defeat the match to Zalmi by 8 wickets.
2020 Year
In the year of 2020 Peshawar Zalmi play well but they could not win the final. Before the tournament they signed Hashem Amla for their monstrance. Younis Khan get the retirement from his place of mentorship.

Team Name ,Logo
The Peshawar Zalmi team name choose by Javed Afridi. Zalmi word means ” the Youth” so whole word meaning is Youth of Peshawar city. The logo of Peshawar team represent the tradition of its city. The logo of Zalmi team decorate with the Peshawari turban with three stumps. Peshawar logo has three color Blue. White and Yellow. All these three color show the pride of the region Peshawar & energy of the people.

In the year of 2016 to 2017 Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malik was the two Brand Ambassador of the Zalmi team. But in 2018 Mahira Khan replace with Humaima. In 2019 Sana Javed assigned for the brand Ambassador.

Gul Parna is the Pashtun singer & sung the song for the Peshawar Zalmi team. In every season the Zami team changed their Anthem. And released before the tournament.
