Each team plays 9 matches in the group stage. 4 teams will qualify for the semifinal from the group stage. 2 teams who will qualify semi-final round play the final of the World Cup. In past India hosted three-time World Cups with the partition of Pakistan & Bangladesh in 1987, 1996 & 2011.

In this competition total of 13 competitors will participate from which 8 teams will directly qualify for the tournament. The host team India is also included in 8 qualified teams. The remaining 2 teams will select from the Super League matches of the 2022 ICC World Cup.

  • 7 teams from the Super League Matches will play from 30 July 2023 to 31 May 2023.
  • 2 teams will select from the Cricket World Cup Qualifier that will play on 18 June to 19 July.
